To find the required score on your final exam, use the following algebraic formula:

Suppose you currently have an 84% (B) in Chemistry. Your final exam is worth 30% (0.30) of your total grade, and you want to earn an 90% (A) in the class:

- Subtract from target: 90 - 58.8 = 31.2 points needed from the final
